Superstitions amongst Indian students during exams

Exam time is so stressful because it is the only time when staring at the wall also becomes interesting!. To help you get over your chills, read ahead to find some of the hilarious superstitious beliefs candidates express during examinations.

Never use an old pencil.

During the time of exams, students have often been noted to believe that using an old pencil will bring them bad luck. They think that as they sharpen the pencil, they scrape away their chance. Thus, they wish to use new pencils only. Though this is illogical to another level, people believe what they believe, and there is nothing that can change it.

Oh, please! Let the mynas be.

Mynas are beautiful and chirpy birds that can be spotted in any green area in India. Be it the bushes, a garden, or the park; mynas are everywhere. It is a bizarre superstition to believe that if you spot one myna, it brings sorrow while spotting two of them will bring joy. Moreover, children have gone to the extent of reciting, “One for sorrow, two of joy, three for a letter, four for a boy.” Though no one would expect something from an aspirant of the JEE Main mock test, this is the state of affairs at ground level.

“This is my lucky outfit.”

This is something that you may also be guilty of doing at some point in your life. There have been innumerable instances when students wanted to wear a particular for the JEE Main mock test because they thought it was lucky for them. Preparing well for the mock tests is imperative because it gives you an estimate of your learning so far. Thus, students take mock tests very seriously and wish to excel in it.

“My lucky charm remains with me!”

What exactly is a lucky charm? It is a piece of clothing, an ornament, or anything tangible that brings you good luck. But, sometimes students have gone to the extent of associating their performance in the JEE Main mock test with their handkerchief, finger ring, or necklace. This is also a superstition because there is no scientific backing to prove the correlation between the two.

You may be laughing right now, but these superstitions are the reality for mainly. Though it is a big deal to clear the JEE Main examinations, clearing your mind is also vital. Now, enough with this entertainment. Get back to your JEE Main mock test!
